KBS’s series Sungkyunkwan Scandal recently won the bronze prize at the ’2012 New York TV Festival.’
On April 17, the series was honored with the bronze prize in mini series category at the festival, which was held in Las Vegas, the United States.
Over 400 organizations from all over the world attended the festival and major broadcasting organizations, including, British BBC Worldwide, American CBS, Canadian CBC, German ZDF, and Japanese NHK received the prizes.
Kwak Ki Won, KBS producer for Sungkyunkwan Scandal, attended the festival and said, “I hope Hallyu fever in Asia, including Japan, can spread all over the world after winning the prize.”
The series also received the Best Picture in Hallyu category at the ’2011 Seoul Drama Awards.’ ‘New York TV Festival,’ which has been held for 55 years, is one of the international authority awards ceremony. KBS received many prizes with Cursed Sword (silver prize in 2010), Happy Together – Friends: Meeting in 50 Years (grand prize in 2008), and Field Report by Correspondent – Go into the World: Endangered Pygmies, Go to Genocidal Theater (bronze prize in 2007).
